Living in the Jackpot

I want to share a decisive moment of truth that struck me in a powerful way. On the way to church, I was joking with my wife, Nancy, about hitting the jackpot in the lottery. No, I do not play the lottery! God is my source and (more…)

The Gift of Distribution

I’m Dr. Bob, and for just a Mentoring Minute, I want to speak of a biblical principle that never grows obsolete or loses its power. It’s called the principle of distribution. This principle says the ability to give is given by God, and contains within it the promise to return to the giver so much more than he or she can give.  (more…)

Love is a Principled Commitment

I’m Dr. Bob and for just a Mentoring Minute I want to remind you that these days, the world’s perception of love has gone completely away from what God designed it to be – and from what is really is. So let me give you a simple, accurate picture of love, according to God. (more…)

The Song of the Wind

I’m Dr. Bob and for just a Mentoring Minute, I want to share a very special poem that was written by a very special young lady who is named Sala (Tamanikaiwaimaro). We were blessed to know her during our time as missionaries in the Fiji Islands. She wrote this heartfelt poem and sent it to us after we had left Fiji and gone to our next assignment from the Lord. I know this will touch your heart as much as it did mine. Listen carefully and prayerfully to it. “In the song of the wind, in the shout of the strong, in the mighty thunder or in the whisper of the sunset… GOD is seated on the throne… GOD alone deserves all the adoration, the glory and the praise… Everything has its being through HIM!” The cry of my heart is to know HIM and to daily fall in love with HIM!!!” Every time I read this poem, I cannot help but be drawn to Isaiah 57:1. The New King James Version says, ““For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit…”” As often as necessary, remind yourself that God sits on the high and lofty throne and watches over every step you take. Now, ask yourself what more you need today than to be reminded that as He sits on His high and lofty throne, He watches over every step you take. I’m Dr. Bob and that is a Mentoring Minute you really should share with someone. You can listen to additional Mentoring Minutes at www.mentoringministry.com/blogs.

The Song Of The Wind

Today Could Be Your Day

I’m Dr. Bob and for just a Mentoring Minute, I want to encourage you with an old prophet’s words from thousands of years ago. Listen to Isaiah 43:18-19 in God’s Word Translation. “Forget what happened in the past, and do not dwell on events from long ago. {19} I am going to do something new. It is already happening. Don’t you recognize it? I will clear a way in the desert. I will make rivers on dry land.” With those words in mind, let me caution you. If you are not careful, you might miss what God is doing to reverse the conditions you are going through. He said He would make a way in your personal wilderness and release rivers of refreshing into what seems to be your personal very dry desert. Treat this as a promise… for you. Why? Because it is! In Isaiah 43:13, the Amplified Bible version, God said “I will work and who can hinder or reverse it?” Of course, the answer is nobody because He is God! I’m Dr. Bob. Today could be your day to receive something new. Well, go ahead. Receive it by faith. Encourage yourself in God’s promises. He never fails. You can listen to additional Mentoring Minutes at www.mentoringministry.com. Now remember, God is faithful to His Word. Just receive it and move ahead with your blessing.

Extreme Limitations

I’m Dr. Bob and for just a Mentoring Minute, Too often, we see the things restricting us as something negative. Be assured that God has deliberately blessed you with extreme limitations. Notice that I did not say, “He has blessed you with no limitations.” let me explain the difference. “No limitations” means I can do whatever I want. Extreme limitations means I can do all God has called me to, stretching my potential to its maximum boundaries, as I journey through life. Philippians 4:13 (KJV) Says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” I want to encourage you that the only limits you should have are those God provides in His Word. They are put there to first, protect you, and second to direct your paths to success. When you acknowledge and respect these God-given biblical limitations, God will release you to go to explore the vast boundaries that go all the way to the extreme limitations found in His plan for you. I’m Dr. Bob, I want to encourage you to trust God, respect your boundaries, and then go to your full potential in obedience to Him, as you are mindful of His Word. Extreme Limitations

He Looks at the Lamb

I’m Dr. Bob and for just a Mentoring Minute, I want to set things straight. If you have given your life to Christ, but have been living with condemnation because of your past, it’s time to change your focus, which will change your thinking. When you gave your life to Jesus, God changed His focus. He no longer looks at your sinful past. He now looks at you as a washed in the blood of the lamb, devil stomping son or daughter of God. He sees you as a winner and a champion. When God considers a believer’s value to Him, He looks to the Lamb, not at the sinner. Your performance is no longer the standard of God’s acceptance. Jesus took care of that. Your acceptance by God is complete because of the grace-filled sacrifice of the Lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the only spotless, sinless Person who could ever have met the standard of holiness in heaven. So, just relax. Do your best and let God’s view of the Lamb do the rest. That is the truth. It will set you free, and keep you free, as often as you need to remind yourself of it. I’m Dr. Bob. That’s the truth and you can hear more of my Mentoring Minutes at www.mentoringministry.com. I know they will bless you.

Simply Because…

I’m Dr. Bob and for just a Mentoring Minute, I want to ask you this question. Have you looked past your problems lately and focused on your blessings? I would like to remind you that God has blessed you simply because He can, and is motivated to do so simply because… He loves you. Furthermore, you have an eternal destiny simply because… Jesus died for you on the cross. Why have I written this for you to read? Simply because… I have been thinking about all these things as they apply to my own life, and I am grateful that I could bring them up to you. Let’s face it; God thinks you are somebody special. As a result, He has poured out His grace and loving concern upon you. Now, you have a life filled with the power of opportunity. All this happened simply because… Jesus was raised from the grave, is alive and functioning with all the authority of heaven. God sees you as a winner and a champion, someone who is the devil’s worst nightmare. He celebrates the reality that you are a miracle waiting to explode on the scene – simply because… you have surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus Christ. I’m Dr. Bob and that is a Mentoring Minute you can shout about. You can listen to my previous Mentoring Minutes at www.mentoringministry.com/blogs simply because… you can.

Simply Because…

Are Things Pressing? Be a Blessing.

I’m Dr. Bob and for just a Mentoring Minute, I’d like to ask if you feel things are pressing in around you? If that’s the situation you find yourself in today, what you need to do is embrace this advice: When things are pressing, take the opportunity to be a blessing! Try it. You will like what being a blessing does to relieve and release you from whatever is pressing. Being a blessing in the face of what is pressing will put life into a correct perspective, and you will find yourself walking on top of your troubles. Yes, there is divinely sourced power in blessing others. It not only makes a difference for them, but when you bless others, it becomes the stepping stone to today’s victory for you. I’m Dr. Bob. I highly recommend that you listen to my previous Mentoring Minutes at www.mentoringministry.com. They will all contribute to your being a blessing to others, while enjoying God’s best for you.

Contribution or Sacrifice?

I’m Dr. bob and  for just a Mentoring Minute, I want to share a life-changing thought I received while listening to the preaching of Pastor Jamie Peters, a friend and apostle to Africa. He pointed out that though a contribution is given with good intentions (there is certainly nothing wrong with that); there is a far deeper meaning to a sacrifice than there could ever be with a contribution. Romans 12:1 (The International Children’s Bible) says, “So brothers, since God has shown us great mercy, I beg you to offer your lives as a living sacrifice to him. Your offering must be only for God and pleasing to him. This is the spiritual way for you to worship.” If you have been content to approach your time in church by giving a contribution (such as money, service or even praise to God), I want to encourage you to take it up a life-changing notch. Let your contribution become a sacrifice. It will get God’s immediate attention, because He will understand and value your surrender to the inconvenience, pain, or even great discomfort a sacrifice requires. Then, something supernatural will occur. The fire if God will come down. Only a sacrifice brings the fire of God. Ask Elijah or the prophets of Baal. 1 Kings 18:20-40 tells us they had firsthand knowledge of the power of a sacrifice to bring down the fire (1 Kings 18:20-40).
