Who or What’s in Control?

Consider this thought: “You can control your attitudes or your attitudes can control you.” Controlling your attitudes is a proven principle for success. Have you ever watched how children typically interact with each other? Many or perhaps even most of their actions instinctively and accurately represent the carnal nature we all have. In their early and formative years, children have little control over their flesh. Only with godly training and the passage of time do they begin to reflect maturity and the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:16 (NKJV) says, “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” Ephesians 5:8-9 (NKJV) says, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light {9} (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),”

The world typically functions in a vast imbalance of selfish, self-serving attitudes and behaviors. Only Christ can change this. We can be sure this will happen when He returns. In the meantime, keep yourself under control by allowing the Spirit of God to direct your heart toward having the right, God-pleasing attitudes. Then, what’s on the inside will be clearly seen on the outside. I’m Dr. Bob. How often do any of us walk in step with the Spirit of God? Now would be a good time to reflect on how you can improve the cadence of your life so it demonstrates, step by step that you are walking with God, and fulfilling His will.
