What Determines Your Blessings?

The question is, What determines your blessings? Is it your circumstances, education, friends, or how smart you are? Could it be your willingness to work hard? These may all contribute to your blessings, but, at times, it can be quite the opposite. They may actually contribute to something other than your being blessed. How can this be? Deuteronomy 28:1-2 (NKJV) says, “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. {2} And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:”

Deuteronomy 28:1-2 tells us that our blessings primarily depend on our obedience to God and His Word. Obedience is always the deciding factor! It prompts God to invade your circumstances and overwhelm anything that tries to deny your blessings from coming to you. God guarantees His divine intervention. He promises it to you in Verse 2. It seems simple enough… and it is. Just obey God! Oh, there is one more thing. You have to hear before you can obey. Are you listening so you can hear? Your willingness to listen to what He says and then obey will bring you his blessings. Perhaps you heard me previously talking about keeping your flesh in step with your spirit, so you could hear God’s Spirit. Have you been so busy that your failure to hear Him, and thus your failure to obey, has prevented your blessings.
