The Best Building Blocks

I have decided that some of the best building blocks of our lives are the things that are the most unusual, and at times, even seem to be the most destructive. Perhaps you guessed that I am speaking about the experiences we all have in life. It got me to thinking about how faith works.

James 1:2 (NLT) says, “Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. {3} For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. {4} So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.”

When we stand firm in the midst of our trials, even when they seem to have negative outcomes, we can still recognize God responding in faithfulness. This provides us with the understanding that our tests and trials can become building blocks for success in life. Though thinking of the trials of life as unusual building blocks may not always be easy, remember that they are the stuff of which faith, strong character, determination and victory are made. Understanding this can help you build your confidence, even as you build your ability to have joy in the middle of any trouble. I’m Dr. Bob. Have you fallen into a trial recently? Are you in a test? If so, handle it so the test becomes your testimony. Let your test be part of the stuff of which champions are made… including you. So, here is a great question. What are you building from what you have experienced?
