Living in the Jackpot

I want to share a decisive moment of truth that struck me in a powerful way. On the way to church, I was joking with my wife, Nancy, about hitting the jackpot in the lottery. No, I do not play the lottery! God is my source and I try to steward with great care, all that He provides. Anyway, I was joking about hitting the jackpot. At that moment, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart that when I accepted Christ, I hit the greatest jackpot there is.

Ephesians 2:8 (NKJV) says, For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.” Romans 6:22-23 (NKJV) says, “But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. {23} For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

What cold possibly compare to being given the gift of eternal life… and a trip into the favor of God? The best thing about this is that it was free. I was a guaranteed winner. That is what I call a jackpot. I’m Dr. Bob and that is worth shouting about. So… what are you waiting for? Give God glory with a shout of joy-filled gratefulness! Hallelujah!
