Mary had a Little Lamb

I’m Dr. Bob and for just a Mentoring Minute I want to remind you of a child’s poem with which you may be familiar. It is called, “Mary had a little lamb.” I often wonder if its author had another little Lamb in his or her heart when this poem was written. The Bible is the story of such a Lamb. His name is Jesus. His small beginnings changed everything. Luke 2:11-12 (NKJV) says, “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. {12} And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”  The Lord Jesus Christ was born as a baby in a stable. When He began His ministry thirty-years later, John 1:29 records John the Baptist saying this: “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”  Revelation 13:8b (NKJV) tells us He became  “…the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”

God’s amazing plan for redemption, which focuses on the Lamb, displays a pattern for the ages. It shows how things can grow from small to large and when they mature, something miraculous is set in motion. Let the small beginnings of what is in your heart grow into something earth shaking and significant. Regardless of how many times you have done this, I urge you to take the time once again to “Behold the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world.” You will find it as inspiring and life changing as ever. It could begin the breakthrough you need for small beginnings to grow into a something great. Perhaps you have never beheld the Lamb. Now would be an excellent time to look to Jesus and let Him start something miraculous in your life. I’m Dr. Bob. I urge you to take the time right now to “Behold the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world.” It could begin the breakthrough you need for the small beginning of something great that God has planned for you.
