Podcast: Seven-Layer Cake
I’m Dr. Bob and for just a Mentoring Minute I’d like to speak to you about layers. When I was growing up, my mother would give us a special treat, called seven-layer cake. It consisted of alternating layers of tasty white cake and rich chocolate. I loved to take it apart, savoring each layer as I ate it. I invite you to consider that there are layers of value to encounter within your journey through life. To savor the value they hold will require you to do so in the context of the relationships you form and nurture as you go.
(Romans 12:2 (NKJV) says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Psalms 34:8 (NKJV) says, “Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”
You can be assured that there are layers of value in everything you do. Together, these carry the potential to transform your life and influence its outcome for all of eternity. I recommend you taste the simple goodness of God’s plan He has designed just for you. Savor each layer of your journey through life as you go deeper in Christ. It will change you forever. I’m Dr. Bob and that’s Mentoring Minute that, if you let it, can change you forever. You can listen to additional Mentoring Minutes at www.mentoringministry.com/blogs.
