I’m Dr. Bob and for just a Mentoring Minute, I have some advice that guarantees your success. Actually, the advice is not mine. It comes from a man whose name was Paul. He heard it directly from the heart of God. Then he wrote in a letter to someone he cared deeply about, whose name was Timothy. Here is what he wrote in 2 Timothy 2:15 NKJV. “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Another wise man, in fact, the wisest of wise men wrote this in Proverbs 16:16 (NKJV) “How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.” The Word of God is our unmistakable, inerrant and completely dependable source for success. When you stick your nose in the Word, and let the Scriptures find their way to your heart, you equip yourself to navigate through life. I trust this helps to convince you to put the Book first. Do so, regardless of any circumstance, temptation or fear. What you face might be good, bad or ugly, but the Word of the Lord is always a beautiful source of wisdom and counsel.
