I’m Dr. Bob, and for just a Mentoring Minute I want to encourage you to be a stepping-stone. Let me explain. I can recall a trip to a forest in which I walked out into a beautiful, shallow river by walking on a series of large stones. They became my stepping-stones. You can be someone’s stepping-stone. This happens when you interact with others in ways that can help them move ahead to their blessings. It’s always your choice. You can also become a hindrance to them if you choose. It is entirely up to you. God will give you great opportunities to make someone’s life easier and to assist them in fulfilling His will for their life. In the Book of Esther, it is recorded that her uncle asks a question that we all can ask on a daily basis. In Esther 4:14 (NKJV) he says, “…Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Look carefully at your every day encounters with people. Consider that they are not chance encounters, but divine appointments. Be alert to the divine purposes in them. Then, listen for the divine instructions you will get for such times as these. God will not be silent when He sees your heart is to fulfill His purposes whenever you meet people. Be assured that you are a blessing waiting to happen. I’m Dr. Bob. You can be someone’s stepping-stone to something better. Please make sure you never become a stumbling block, never an obstacle to their well-being and success.
